Open all year round

Our guesthouse is open all year round, and the most common question we hear is: "Even in winter?" Our answer is a clear "Yes."

The changing seasons
Nature, life, and the needs of our guests change with the seasons. In summer, most visitors stay 2–3 nights to explore the mountains, join whale safaris, or go out with our rafting boats to observe birds. Winter, on the other hand, attracts travelers seeking peace and the magic of the Northern Lights. Many of our current guests stay for a week or longer. We also offer special packages upon request. Snow hiking is possible even in the cold season, and evenings become exciting when the first Northern Lights dance in the sky.

In spring and autumn, our guests immerse themselves more deeply in the region. The days are bright enough to spend plenty of time outdoors, and away from the summer hustle and bustle, you get to experience the local people and culture up close. On average, guests stay with us for 2–5 nights before continuing their journey.

Work and relax
Outside the summer season, we also welcome many people working remotely who find a small oasis in our coliving and coworking space. You can read more about this in a separate article.

Our restaurant
During the summer months (June 1 – August 31), our restaurant is open daily. We usually start at 8:30 AM with breakfast and often don’t close until around 11:00 PM, with hot meals typically served until 9:30 PM. For visits outside peak hours, we recommend calling ahead or making a reservation so we can plan accordingly.

Outside the summer months, we only open our restaurant upon request. As we also run a guide service, it’s not always possible to respond positively to every inquiry. In coordination with our neighboring businesses, we do our best to ensure at least one establishment in Nyksund remains open for guests.
