I, Ssemjon, warmly welcome you to Nyksund, a place north of the Arctic Circle that has been my home since the year 2000. For a long time, I dreamed of living here, and in Nyksund, I found a place that gives me peace, strength, and joy – exactly what I also want to share with you as my guests.
Whether you are just passing through, attending a seminar or conference, or seeking a "timeout" from everyday life that brings you to Nyksund for weeks: I look forward to meeting each and every one of you. Together with my team, we do our best to make your stay with us as enriching and unforgettable as possible.
When I started restoring Holmvik Brygge with Karl Heinz Nickel in 1997, Nyksund was a ghost town. No one lived here permanently except us, and it stayed that way for a few years. Today, however, we are a community of over 20 people who have found their love and home in Nyksund.
What is especially important to us: Everything we create, from the careful restoration of our buildings to the dishes in our restaurant, is made by hand, with great care, and with the talents of everyone who has helped here over the years.
Nyksund and Holmvik Brygge are not places for fleeting visits. This is not a place you book on an internet platform, arrive in the evening, and leave the next morning. Nyksund wants to be discovered. A walk through the village can take five minutes – or an entire lifetime.
