INTRODUCTORY PROVISIONS
This privacy policy applies to Holmvik Brygge & Discover Vesterålen AS, and associated publications and services.
WHY WE STORE INFORMATION
We store information for several reasons:
For the system to be able to recognise our users, to be able to use the services
To have a confirmation of purchase/subscription
To enable our users to register for our events
For targeting and removal of adverts and editorial content that is relevant/irrelevant to you
To send you updated information about courses and conferences you have registered for
Develop and improve our services by understanding how they are used
Processing of applications
WHAT WE DO NOT USE THE INFORMATION FOR
The information you provide to us will only be stored in our systems. The information will not be resold, and will only be used to provide you as a user with more relevant information and better services.
Third parties will be able to extract IP address and data based on your browsing patterns. We are obliged to ensure that these third parties process data in accordance with Norwegian regulations.
HOW THE DATA IS COLLECTED
ANONYMOUS DATA
The websites visited, time, browser and the IP address from which the visit originates are logged.
PERSONAL DATA
REGISTRATION OF USER ACCOUNT
When registering a user account, we store e-mail addresses.
We may also store optional information such as full name and telephone number.
REGISTRATION FOR COURSES, CONFERENCES, ACTIVITIES and ACCOMMODATION
When registering for our services, we will only store the information you provide when registering.
When forwarding bookings (e.g. activities organised by other companies), we will only transmit the information to the other company that is necessary to complete a confirmed booking.
INFORMATION STORED LOCALLY
For example, we use cookies to store anonymous identification locally in your browser. These are used to improve the user experience. For example, to remember form data that has been entered so that it is remembered for later use.
We also include elements from third-party services such as Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter and Google+, which load their own cookies that readers already have on these services.
5B. HOW DO WE STORE THE DATA?
Data is stored with Seria's subcontractor Cerpus, which has the operating environment at Blix Solutions in Oslo. Backups older than 1 year are also stored offline, in a fireproof safe in Bodø. Passwords are stored encrypted.
5C. HOW LONG DO WE STORE THE DATA?
Data is stored as long as the website is in operation.
PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA / COOKIES
Personal data will be stored in our database, processed and published in accordance with the provisions of the Personal Data Act, and as set out below.

As regards consent to the use of cookies, this is regulated by the Electronic Communications Act. You can also find more about this on the Norwegian Data Protection Authority's page on cookies.
DATA CONTROLLER
Your personal data will be processed by Seria AS, which is the data controller, and our IT suppliers for the purpose of providing services and improving services.
In addition, we sometimes engage other companies to contribute to our development, and in such cases we may provide these companies with the data they need to fulfil this purpose. Your personal data will not be disclosed to others without your consent or unless we are legally obliged to do so.
Your personal data is stored within the EU/EEA area and in accordance with Norwegian data protection legislation.
REGISTERED PROFILE DATA, ACCESS AND RECTIFICATION
The information you provide when registering (name, email, etc.) and when editing this profile is used to deliver and further develop the service, as well as for analysis and statistical purposes.
It is you who register the information in our database.
You have the right to request access to the information registered about you, and if it is incorrect or incomplete, you can have it corrected, supplemented or deleted. You can do this by contacting us.
You have the right to request the erasure of your personal data from our databases. We will accommodate this as long as the service you want to be deleted from does not have specific requirements and justifications for keeping your data.
If we suspect grossly inaccurate information in your user profile, we may delete your account without further action.
8B. THE DATA SUBJECT'S RIGHTS ALSO INCLUDE
You have the right to request the restriction of processing.
You have the right to object to the processing.
You have the right to data portability.
You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority.
You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.
HOW TO PREVENT COOKIES FROM BEING STORED
You can delete cookies from your hard drive at any time, but this will make your personalised settings disappear.
You can also change the settings in your browser so that it does not allow cookies to be stored on your hard drive. However, this will reduce the functionality of some websites, may prevent access to pages that require you to log in, and may make some content and features unavailable.
To prevent so-called anonymous identifiers from being stored, you need to disable javascript in your browser. However, Javascript is necessary for many basic functions of the website to work.
